A Small Delay

I have to delay my picture posts for this week. I know, I know, it's only my second week. I promise this is not a sign of future disappointment. I've been pretty sick this week, so unfortunately I haven't been able to make any progress and to top it off, I just feel down right icky. So please stay tuned for next weeks post and my activity log. Again... sorry.

First Before Pictures

Ain't that a sight!!!

Here are my first before pictures. It's funny, you never know exactly how much weight you have put on until you see yourself in a picture. I'm just going to throw out there that I am now a firm believer that the idea that the camera does put on ten pounds. In my head I am much thinner than this...LOL! I did not stretch out the pictures. I only cropped them. Niether am I pushing my gut out. I took a deep breath and exhaled before the picture was taken. On a side note: Throughout the day I usually am holding everything in :-D.

You can very well see that my scoliosis has affected my posture. I was diagnosed back in middle school and this may account for my shortened mid section (could be genes too). Let's see if building the muscles along my spine will aid in adjusting my posture. I will include any stretches that I do as well.

Great now it's all hanging out for the world to see! Oh boy, how funny. My target weight is going to be between 105 and 115. I think that should be a healthy weight for me, but I'm not so concerned with numbers. I want to build lean muscle mass and overall build up my cardio endurance. Believe it or not, I'm a size 6, but I have a very small frame so any amount of weight on me is very much accentuated.  My next pictures will be on Wed March 16th so expect another blog at that time, but in the interim, I will also be posting my routine, notable changes and any pertinent info I may be leaving out in my haste. If there is any other info you think you be helpful to list and track please let me know.

And away we go...!

Introduction To Me and My Plan

Okay, so, I am turning 29 tomorrow... yay! Wait um...nooooo!

Its my last year of my twenties. I have a goal for this year. I want to get into excellent shape before I turn thirty. What does excellent shape mean? Hum...good question. To be honest I don't really know. It sounds like a question to be answered by the individual if you ask me. Well, I want to look bikini ready, yup that's it... at least for me. So join me will you on this little adventure. Subscribe to my blog so that you can track my updates as I go.

Here's my plan:
1. I'm NOT. I repeat, NOT changing my diet. Not only am I stubborn as a mule, but I believe that if you consciously change your eating habits by reducing your intake, you are doing a diservice to yourself, biology aside. Yeah...yeah...yeah...I know I could eat healthier, but did you ready my statement above... I'M STUBBORN! I also find that my eating habits change as I exercise (Scientific fact! I won't go into all the science of it. I'm a scientist at work and that's where it's gonna stay.)

2. Starting tomorrow, I will post my initial BEFORE picture. I will then take a new picture of myself in the same outfit, in the same position and in the same place (granted I don't move as I subscribe to apartment living at the moment) every Wednesday for a year, or unless I achieve bikini success before then.

3. On the 9th of every month (why the ninth, well because that's the day I started), I will then post my latest picture next to my initial BEFORE picture (the one I will take tomorrow March 9th, 2011). This way you can visually see the progress I have made month by month. I may even occasionally post consecutive months next to each other so you can see the gradual changes...honestly, I haven't decided yet.

4. I will include a log of what activities I participated in that week.

Now, here's the embarassing part, my personal data if you will:
I am 5'2" tall, 135 lbs. Feel free to calculate my BMI if you like, but this, for me, isn't necessary. I'm looking for visual results.

Why do this? Well, there are a few reasons. I, first of all, like to see before and after pictures on the internet. They are in fact mini-success stories. I also feel that blogging my progress will give me a little extra motivation to stick to it. Trust me, I by no means am excited about throwing my before picture out there. The only reason I can allow myself to do it, is that I hope that picture will soon be a distant memory.
